Terrific Tuesdays have become a summer staple of picnics and activities for the children of Emmanuel.
What began as pool parties and day trips to keep children who have completed Kindergarten – 6th grade busy during summer weekdays has taken a partial mission focus.
Last week 18 children came to the Art Daze on Terrific Tuesday and recreated Emmanuel’s famous Rose window on canvas with colorful small fingerprints.
Carrie Rhymes led the group in making two canvas windows – one to take home and the other to be given to one of Emmanuel’s homebound members.
Several adults assisted Carrie in helping the group make their personalized masterpieces.
During this past week’s Terrific Tuesday session the children set out to complete their mission project by personally delivering some of the Rose window creations to homebound members of Emmanuel.
Several of the children travelled to Alexandria and Pineville to hand deliver some of the artful creations.
These special canvas pieces from a younger generation became a personalized gift to some of Emmanuel’s older generation.
