How big is your heart? I’ve heard of hearts breaking, feeling empty and even of people who seem heartless.
In the last several years, God has shown me the fulfillment of His promise of scripture that “Three things will last forever – faith, hope, and love – and the greatest of these is love” 1 Corinthians 13:13.
The most recent fulfillment of this promise was the birth of my first grandchild last week.
There is nothing like welcoming a new child into your world to grow your heart. I first experienced this when I married my husband in 2000 and inherited three young children. Then it happened again in 2006, when my youngest daughter was born.
I always thought nothing could top the love I have for my children, but I was wrong. Becoming a grandparent has changed my heart in ways I never imagined. God is showing me in new ways how love is the greatest of his promises.
It truly is GRAND to have this new experience, not just the part about becoming a grandparent, but the new ways in which God is showing me His love and helping me share that love with others.
As I’ve watched my children grow over the years, God has given me a greater understanding of His love for us as His children.
In this new role that I’ve taken on He is showing me that my heart can continue to be filled with His promises not only through His word in the Bible, but also through the gift of human beings.
Hearts can be full of so many things – bitterness, anger, pain and joy, but I believe we have a choice as to what we keep in our hearts.
Every day is Valentine’s Day with God. Our job is to share that love through a kind word or deed, even just a hug can do miracles.
Don’t let a single moment go by without sharing His love with someone else.
