“One more thing? I can’t do One. More.Thing!” How often do we tell ourselves this when our schedules get too full?
I like to think that we’re always going about doing good even when we’re not planning or thinking about it. We’re “bearing fruit in active goodness of every kind… (Col. 1:10b REV) That’s just who we are in Christ.
We’re salt of the earth, light for the world whether we realize it or not. People can see that we’re different, full of peace and joy that’s beyond understanding- that we’re at least…. becoming.
Last summer, we suggested that you join with your Sunday school groups to minister to people living and working in the vicinity of our church and then report back to us what had been done. The reports were very encouraging and a blessing to all of us who heard them.
This Sunday we’re providing you with a list of suggested ministry activities that families, groups of friends, and individuals can do for our larger community. After making your ministry choice and setting a date, send it to nipnfran@suddenlink.net so we don’t overlap each other.
Of course, Christians aren’t the only ones who do these kinds of good works, but only Christians can do it because of Christ’s love.
We do it because of an overflow of thankfulness for the gift of faith, the gift of eternal life and for the blessings we receive from the Lord.
For all these reasons, we give our time for One. More. Good. Thing for Christ’s sake, for our gift of thanks to Him.
